Two Boards, Three Boys, and a Beach Day Worth Remembering…
🌊 Two Boards, Three Boys, and a Beach Day Worth Remembering…
Most people dread Mondays.
They groan. They drag. They wish it was still Sunday.
But what if Mondays looked like this?
I slept in ‘til 9am — a little later than my usual. Normally, I’m on the sand by 7am for my morning beach walk, but today I moved slow. By the time I reached the beach, it was 11am — and the ocean was absolutely perfect.
I had planned on a simple walk — but the waves were calling my name.
And honestly? Boogie boarding is way better exercise.
I called a fellow agent to see if he could join. Grabbed my two boards from the car (I always keep them handy — you never know when the ocean’s going to flirt with you), and made my way to the water.
That’s when the coconut vendor called out, asking how the waves were.
I smiled. “Awesome! Want to try?”
He said yes, and just like that, off came the shades, hat, and sandals.
As we walked toward the surf, a man nearby flagged us down — worried the coconut man’s three sons were a little far out. The kids paddled closer just in time to see us with the boards. Their eyes lit up.
I caught a wave, then offered to show them how. Within minutes, they were flying through the surf, laughing and loving it.
Then, another man brought out two more boogie boards from his condo — this time for his little boy and girl. I gave the girl a few tips and she was soon catching waves like a pro.
I kept glancing toward the sand, waiting for the agent to show up — but honestly, I was having so much fun, I stopped caring. I was moving, laughing, soaked in salt and sun. It was everything I needed.
Eventually, the agent arrived — hot and tired, but ready to dive in.
He told me it was his first time in the ocean this year.
“You live here… in Puerto Peñasco!” I laughed.
“This is your backyard!”
After catching a few waves and chatting on the sand, we got ready to leave. I waved the kids over to return the boards — but paused.
They were so sweet, so respectful, so full of joy.
So I said:
“You know what? You can keep them.”
Their faces lit up. They yelled “Gracias!” and ran straight back into the sea, boards in hand.
💭 Why am I sharing this?
Because Mondays don’t have to suck.
They can look like this — full of joy, spontaneity, and community.
Living in Puerto Peñasco isn’t just about the real estate…
It’s about building a life you love.
